Joseph concentrates his practice in representing and counseling healthcare providers, including hybrid healthcare entities, physicians, practice groups, nurses, physical therapists, partnerships and long-term care facilities, as well as private companies and individuals, non-profits and governmental entities. Joseph provides full service to the healthcare industry, acting in myriad capacities to represent clients for all healthcare related litigation, transactional, audit, and regulatory needs. As such, Joseph routinely strategizes with his clients in all aspects of their operations, including incorporating regulatory requirements into their business models and emerging technologies including with respect to HIPAA.
Joseph is a seasoned litigator, and has routinely appeared before the Federal, Appellate, and Superior Courts of New Jersey, as well as represented the interest of his clients before the Office of Administrative Law and regulatory agencies. Joseph has experience through all phases of litigation, from discovery to depositions to hearings to settlement and to appeal. Joseph focuses his litigation practice on representing and advocating for health industry clients in a range of matters from governmental audits and investigations to partnership and practice disputes, and everything in between. Joseph is routinely requested to handle matters of significant exposure and complexities that often involve novel issues.
Joseph, in addition to frequently lecturing on issues impacting the healthcare industry, serves as the Vice Chair of Health Care Litigation and Risk Management for the ABA Health Law Section and was the former Chair of the Health Law Section Executive Board of the New Jersey State Bar Association. Additionally, Joseph serves on the District XB Ethics Committee.
Prior to joining Mandelbaum Barrett PC, Joseph was a Partner at a boutique law firm in Northern New Jersey and previously served as a judicial law clerk for the Honorable Maryann L. Nergaard, J.S.C.
