Daniel M. Serviss is a Partner in the firm’s Family Law Practice Group. His practice encompasses all aspects of matrimonial and family law, including divorce, post-judgment litigation, child custody and parenting time disputes, prenuptial and property settlement agreements, business and asset valuations, domestic violence matters, and mediation and arbitration proceedings. Known for his strategic approach and deep understanding of complex family law issues, he represents clients in both negotiations and trial, always with a focus on protecting their interests and supporting their long-term well-being. His emphasis is on conflict resolution and attaining favorable outcomes by employing creative approaches to achieve his client’s goals. He has experience representing high-profile and high-net-worth clients involving complex and intricate business-related disputes and has uniquely navigated sensitive and contentious custody dispute matters such as those involving sexual abuse allegations.

In addition to traditional family law matters, Daniel has vast experience in Jewish divorce law. He has appeared in rabbinical courts in New Jersey and New York, representing his clients though the Get process and resolution of their divorce issues.

A graduate of The George Washington University (1993) and Seton Hall University School of Law (1996), Mr. Serviss served as Associate Editor of the Seton Hall Law Review and authored multiple scholarly articles, including in the Seton Hall Constitutional Law Journal and Seton Hall Law Review. He continues to contribute to the legal community as an Associate Editor of New Jersey Family Lawyer and through numerous published articles in the field.

Highly regarded by peers, Mr. Serviss has been named to Super Lawyers – New Jersey Rising Stars and was selected for the New Jersey Law Journal’s “40 Under 40: Leading Attorneys” list.* He is an active member of the Family Law Sections of the Middlesex and Essex County Bar Associations, the New Jersey State Bar Association, and the American Bar Association, and he serves on the Family Law Executive Committee of the New Jersey State Bar Association.

In addition to his client work, Mr. Serviss shares his knowledge as a frequent lecturer and seminar presenter for organizations including the New Jersey Association for Justice, the New Jersey Institute for Continuing Legal Education, and the New Jersey State Bar Association. He also serves as a panelist in the Early Settlement Programs in Monmouth, Union, and Essex Counties, helping families resolve matters efficiently and fairly.
