Ryan S. Tougias is a Partner based in Mandelbaum Barrett PC’s Greenwich office, where he represents clients in complex civil and commercial litigation in federal and state courts, as well as through alternative dispute resolution.

His practice spans business disputes, breach of contract, breach of fiduciary duty, fraud, labor and employment matters, creditors’ rights, and bankruptcy-related claims.

At the beginning of his career, Ryan served as a Legal Research Clerk for the Connecticut Superior Court. During law school, he externed with the U.S. Department of Justice, U.S. Trustee Program, and interned with the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Ways and Means, gaining valuable experience in federal regulatory and legislative processes. Prior to joining the firm, he was an associate at a large east-coast law firm.

Ryan earned his J.D. (cum laude) from Syracuse University College of Law, where he served as Lead Articles Editor for the Syracuse Journal of International Law & Commerce and Articles Editor for the American Bar Association’s labor and employment law journal, The Labor Lawyer. He received his B.A. in Economics and Political Science from Fairfield University, and completed undergraduate coursework at the London School of Economics.

He is admitted to practice in Connecticut and New York, as well as before the U.S. District Courts for the District of Connecticut and the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York, as well the U.S. Courts of Appeals for the Second and Ninth Circuits. Ryan is a past president of the Greenwich Bar Association, and is an active member of the Fairfield County, Connecticut, and New York State Bar Associations.
