Bart Mongelli is a partner in the Real Estate practice group at Mandelbaum Barrett PC, bringing decades of legal acumen to clients across New Jersey and the surrounding region.

His practice focuses on real estate, banking, and corporate law, where he serves as a trusted advisor for complex transactions and strategic initiatives for both developers and lenders.  He also serves as general counsel to numerous for profit and not for profit entities.  He served as general counsel to North Hudson Community Action Corporation for over thirty years.

Over the course of his career, Bart has represented banks and private lenders in structuring, negotiating, and documenting a broad spectrum of borrowing and lending matters—including development financing, construction loans, and real estate acquisitions and dispositions. His depth of experience enables him to guide clients through each stage of a deal, from due diligence and risk analysis to closing and post-closing oversight.

His nonprofit leadership extends to roles on multiple boards, including:

  • Rebeka Verea Foundation (Board Member)
  • Paramus Catholic High School Consulting Board (Vice Chair)
  • Upper Saddle River Education Foundation (Founder & Former Board Member)

Bart also has a long record of public service, having served as Commissioner of the Northwest Bergen County Utilities Authority (2017–2021) and in local government as Borough Councilman and Council President for the Borough of Ridgefield earlier in his career.

Bart also served for numerous years as Treasurer, to Former U.S. Congressman Steve Rothman, Englewood.

He earned his J.D. from Pace University School of Law and his B.A. in Political Science from Fordham University. Licensed to practice in New Jersey, Bart is committed to bridging legal strategy with positive community impact.
