Alida E.H. Beck is a strategic healthcare attorney with a rare blend of regulatory insight and hands-on research experience, guiding hospitals, research centers, and life sciences innovators as they balance compliance, risk, and discovery.
Alida E.H. Beck is an Associate in the Firm’s Healthcare Practice Group. She brings a strong foundation in both transactional and regulatory matters, joining the firm from the Office of General Counsel at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. There, she advised on preclinical research agreements, FDA regulatory compliance, and intellectual property strategy connected to life sciences innovation.
Earlier in her career, Alida was an Associate at a Chicago law firm, where her practice focused on civil litigation and healthcare law. She has extensive experience drafting and negotiating legal documents, advising on licensure and risk management, and guiding healthcare organizations through complex regulatory frameworks. Her early legal background also includes clerkships with another Chicago firm and with Rush University Medical Center’s Office of Legal Affairs and Risk Management.
Before attending law school, Alida worked at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center as a Clinical Research Associate. In that role, she managed compliance and operations for multiple early-phase oncology trials, overseeing matters from trial startup through FDA audit and drug approval.
Alida earned her J.D. from Loyola University Chicago School of Law, where she was named Mock Trial Student of the Year and served as a Health Law Fellow. She also holds a Master of Healthcare Administration from LSU Shreveport and a B.A. in Politics, with a minor in Mathematics, from Occidental College, where she captained the varsity lacrosse team.
She is admitted to practice in New York and Illinois and remains actively engaged as a mentor with Minds Matter and as an alumni interviewer for Occidental College.
