Presentation Topics
The Mandelbaum Barrett team covered two substantive topics during the symposium, each addressing areas of increasing relevance to veterinary practice management:
- Incentivizing Employees with Equity Interest: New Opportunities in Non-Traditional Methods. This session addressed how veterinary practices can structure equity-based compensation arrangements to attract and retain high-performing staff. The presentation examined non-traditional approaches that give practices flexibility while aligning employee incentives with long-term practice success.
- Everything You Wanted to Know About Management Services Organizations (MSOs). This session explained the MSO model and why veterinary professionals should understand it, whether they are evaluating a partnership with a larger group or considering establishing their own structure. Tanella and Alessi walked through how MSOs are structured and the legal considerations that apply to veterinary practices specifically.
The Veterinary Hospital Managers Association hosts the annual Legal Symposium to provide hospital managers with access to up-to-date legal and business guidance from practitioners in the field.
