Mason L. Allen is Counsel in Mandelbaum Barrett PC’s Healthcare Practice Group. With over two decades of experience, Mason provides comprehensive legal counsel to healthcare professionals and organizations, focusing on regulatory compliance, complex commercial transactions, and strategic planning for medical practices and healthcare facilities.

Mason’s transactions include the initial public offering and subsequent capital markets offerings for a multi-state owner and operator of small animal general practice hospitals, as well as legal guidance for a multi-state cannabis production and distribution company during its De-SPAC process. He has also facilitated the initial public offerings of multiple U.S.-based medical device and pharmaceutical companies.

Before practicing law, Mason was a management consultant in the health insurance, hospital, and managed care industries. He advised on fee schedule negotiation, patient throughput, claims processing, and revenue enhancement strategies. His consultancy highlights include advising the board of directors of a Connecticut boutique substance abuse rehabilitation center on cash management and patient service systems, designing improved patient throughput procedures for Hackensack Medical Center’s outpatient oncology center, and assisting Saint Joseph’s Medical Center in Yonkers, New York, with Medicaid revenue collection processes and appeals.

Mason holds a J.D., cum laude, from Brooklyn Law School, where he was the Executive Notes and Comments Editor of the Brooklyn Journal of International Law and participated in Moot Court. His academic accolades include the Samuel W. Rover and Lewis Rover Award for Medicine and the Law, CALI Awards for Excellence in Health Law and Health Law Transactions, the Jeffrey E. Rockwell Memorial Prize for International Law, and the Brooklyn Journal of International Law Writing Award. He also holds a Bachelor of Arts in History from Dartmouth College.
