Craig Alexander is the Co-Chair in the Real Estate group, with a concentration on real estate transactions in all asset classes (multi-family, retail, office and industrial) including land development, financing, leasing, zoning, 1031 exchanges, construction, and deal and partnership structuring. His representative clients include developers, builders, investors, commercial property owners, contractors and lenders. Craig handles all phases of the real estate deal, from contract negotiation and due diligence to loan and title closings. Craig represents all parties in the real estate spectrum: sellers and buyers, landlords and tenants, lenders and borrowers.
Craig is the Past President of the Mental Health Association of Essex and Morris, Inc. (www.mhainspire.org) and is a long standing member of its Board of Directors. The mission of the Mental Health Association is to promote mental health, including the integration of physical healthcare, to improve the care and treatment of individuals with mental illness, and to remove the stigma associated with emotional and mental disorders.

- Represented a prominent real estate company in connection with a multi-million dollar refinance of a large multi-family project located in Bergen County, New Jersey.
- Handled the loan closing of a multi-million dollar refinance of a grocery-anchored shopping center located in Warren County, New Jersey.
- Represented a developer in closing a multi-million dollar bank loan to fund the construction of a 35 unit luxury town house project at Lake Hopatcong, New Jersey. The firm also represented the developer with regards to development approvals and deal structuring issues.
- Represented a developer in connection with the acquisition of property in Passaic County, New Jersey which has been approved for a 36 unit multi-family development. Craig represented the developer in connection with the acquisition of the property and in closing the construction loan. The firm’s land use department represented the developer before the local planning board and in negotiating the developer’s agreement with the municipality.
- Closed a multi-million dollar refinance of a Walgreens anchored retail center in Essex County, New Jersey. Craig had previously represented the owners in connection with the acquisition of the property and the construction of the retail center.
- Represented a prominent developer in the acquisition of property located in Morris County, New Jersey that has been approved to be developed with a retail center anchored by Whole Foods.
- Completed the representation of a private builder in connection with the development and sale of a four-lot single family development in Essex County. The firm handled the acquisition of the property, secured the land use approvals, and represented the builder in connection with the construction and sale of the dwellings.

Mandelbaum Barrett PC was able to leverage its relationships to assist the client in acquiring the property in an unusual transaction commencing with the purchase of the existing debt, financed by a hard money lender introduced to the client by the firm.
