Retired Judge Paul J. Vichness has been appointed to the Essex County Professional Committee. The Committee is designed to help curb unprofessional behavior and restore public confidence in the Bar. The program is designed to address conduct by lawyers that does not rise to the level of a violation of the ethics rules. For instance, the program deals with such things as harassing conduct, abusive litigation tactics, incivility, inappropriate courtroom conduct and repeated lack of respect for colleagues, judges and court staff.
Members of the Committee are appointed by the county Bar President. Members of the Committee are highly regarded and experienced members of the Bar and Judiciary with reputations for competence, integrity and civility.
