Our Environmental Law Practice Group acted as local New Jersey environmental co-counsel to Global Partners LP (“Global”) in its acquisition of four liquid energy terminals from Gulf Oil Limited Partnership (“Gulf Oil”) in April of 2024. The terminals are strategically located in Chelsea, MA, New Haven, CT, Linden, NJ and Woodbury, NJ. Our Environmental Law Practice Group worked seamlessly for months with all the parties to get this transaction to the finish line. As the two New Jersey facilities had a long industrial history of liquid energy use, there were many environmental considerations to evaluate, and coordinate with Gulf Oil’s and Global’s environmental consultants with respect to open environmental concerns as well as operational environmental permitting issues and obtaining NJDEP clearance to close prior to obtaining administrative closure under the NJ Industrial Site Recovery Act (“ISRA”). The purchase price for the four terminals was over $212 million.
