Marky Suazo is Counsel in Mandelbaum Barrett PC’s New York office, representing businesses, employers, and individuals in, among other things, complex commercial litigation, employment disputes, real estate litigation, and government investigations throughout New York and New Jersey.

Marky advises and represents clients in a broad range of disputes and regulatory matters. Marky has litigated business torts, contract disputes, shareholder and partnership conflicts, as well as employment litigation and real estate-related disputes. He also advises clients facing investigations and enforcement actions brought by state and federal regulatory authorities.

Marky has extensive experience handling matters from inception through appeal in both state and federal courts. He is known for developing strategic, business-focused solutions while aggressively advocating for his clients’ interests in and out of the courtroom.

His representative experience includes:

• Obtaining dismissal at the pleadings stage of a seven-figure discrimination and harassment lawsuit in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, resolving the matter before discovery.
• Arguing before a panel of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit after independently drafting the motion papers and preparing the appellate strategy.
• Negotiating a complete dismissal of a complaint in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York following oral argument at a pre-motion conference.
• Leading settlement negotiations with the National Labor Relations Board in connection with unfair labor practice charges, resolving the matter for approximately one-third of the penalties originally sought.

Fluent in Spanish, Marky regularly conducts client communications, witness interviews, deposition preparation, and other litigation-related matters in Spanish, enabling him to effectively serve a diverse client base.

Prior to joining Mandelbaum Barrett, Marky gained extensive experience representing clients in a wide range of commercial and complex litigation matters in private practice.

Prior to his private practice career, Marky served as an Assistant Prosecutor with the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office, where he managed criminal investigations, prosecuted felony offenses, and represented the State in court proceedings. He began his legal career as a Judicial Law Clerk to the Honorable Patrick J. Arre, J.S.C., in the Superior Court of New Jersey, Hudson Vicinage.

Marky is admitted to practice in New York and New Jersey, as well as before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit and the U.S. District Courts for the Southern District of New York, the Eastern District of New York, and the District of New Jersey.
