Mandelbaum Barrett PC partners Anthony J. Iacullo and Stacey E. Zyriek Enriquez represented East Orange Fire Chief Andre Williams in his successful reinstatement following a suspension that began in December 2021 over allegations of harassment, intimidation, and discrimination. Coverage of the reinstatement appeared in NJ.com on December 10, 2024, under the headline “N.J. fire chief suspended over harassment claims gets his job back.”

Williams was suspended with pay after complaints from a group of firefighters and subsequent investigations by city officials and the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office. Following months of administrative hearings and review, the East Orange City Council voted unanimously to reinstate Williams, restoring him to his position along with any pay increases due during the suspension.

Iacullo described the accusations against Williams as baseless and expressed hope that the reinstatement would bring closure to the three-year matter. This outcome reflects the expertise of the Firm’s White Collar and Criminal Defense Group in navigating complex administrative and employment-related matters.
